Mindfulness/Compassion Group Information
Where: Bay Vista Condominiums, 2821 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98121, Beaumont Room--6th floor.
When: 7PM every Thursday evening. We have a 30 minute mindfulness sitting meditation followed by 30 minute discussion and closing.
How: Free--no charge to attend. No meditation experience required. It is primarily for residents of Bay Vista and their families and friends; however, others may be able to attend--please email me with your inquiry. Please arrive a little early to become settled in (but there is no penalty or reprisals if you arrive a little late). Bring casual, comfortable clothing. Chairs are provided, but feel free to bring cushion, bench, backjack, floormat if lying is more comfortable, etc. If you are so inspired, feel free to bring short poems, readings, etc., to share with the group.
Suggested readings: "Buddha's Brain" by Rick Hanson, "Focusing" by Eugene Gendlin, and "The Power of Focusing" and "The Radical Acceptance of Everything" by Ann Cornell.
