Mindfulness/Compassion Group Information

Where: Bay Vista Condominiums, 2821 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98121, Beaumont Room--6th floor.

When: 6PM just about every Wednesday evening (EXCEPT usually not the first Wednesday). We have a 30 minute mindfulness sitting meditation followed by 30 minute discussion and closing.

How: Co-hosted by me and Angie Bartels. Free--no charge to attend. No meditation experience required. It is primarily for residents of Bay Vista and their families and friends; however, others are welcome to attend--please email me (jswendtmd@gmail.com) with your inquiry. For non-resident "regulars" I will make up a list of names so that when you arrive, the front desk concierge can direct you up to the Beaumont room (to the left as you get off the elevator). Please arrive a little early to become settled in (but you are still welcome if you arrive a little late). Bring casual, comfortable clothing. Chairs are provided, but feel free to bring cushion, bench, backjack, floormat if lying is more comfortable, etc. If you are so inspired, feel free to bring short poems, readings, etc., to share with the group.

Suggested readings: "Buddha's Brain" by Rick Hanson, "Focusing" by Eugene Gendlin, and "The Power of Focusing" and "The Radical Acceptance of Everything" by Ann Cornell.
