Kindness
Kindness is foundational to right mindfulness practice—whether directed toward oneself, loved ones, friends, associates and acquaintances, strangers, or, indeed, adversaries or enemies. The latter is admittedly difficult (as also may be toward oneself!) but is possible to cultivate. Below is a recitation I practice as part of a daily meditation (either solo or in a group):
May I (We) be filled with loving kindness.
May I (We) be safe, strong and well.
May I (We) be callm and at peace.
May I (We) be happy and content.
