Compassion Group Information
Where: Federal Way Neurology and Headache Clinic, 34503 9th Ave S, Suite 230, Federal Way, WA 98003.
When: Generally once per month on a Friday evening starting at 6PM, now scheduled on a month-to-month basis. The next gathering will be June 23rd.
Suggested readings: "Buddha's Brain" by Rick Hanson, "Focusing" by Eugene Gendlin, and "The Power of Focusing" and "The Radical Acceptance of Everything" by Ann Cornell.
How: Free--no charge to attend. No meditation experience required. Please arrive a little early to become settled in (but there is no penalty or reprisals if you arrive a little late). Bring casual, comfortable clothing. Chairs are provided, but feel free to bring cushion, bench, backjack, floormat if lying is more comfortable, etc. The first 30 min will be guided sitting meditation, followed by discussion and then conclude with a short metta (loving kindness) meditation. If you are so inspired, feel free to bring short poems, readings, etc., to share with the group.
